How can I find out when a streaming film license expires?

The vast majority of films available through the library are part of a subscription package (such as Films on Demand and ICE Video Library). These films do not expire. Please be aware that the vendor and distributors periodically add, remove, and update films from their collections.

Films requested by faculty are typically available for one year on Kanopy, Swank, or other streaming film platforms. You can find the expiration dates for these films in two ways:

  • Currently Licensed Films list: Find the film and expiration date on our list of Currently Licensed Films. This list is updated 2-4 times per year.
  • AllForOne Search: Film expiration dates can be viewed in the library's AllForOne Search. For tips on searching for films, see Searching for Films in the Library AllForOne Search
    1. Use the search box to search for the film.
    2. In the results list, click the film title or click on Online Access to access additional details about the film.
    3. Below Online Access, find the link and expiration date for the film.

Below Online Availability in the film record, there is a link to a film and a note for the expiration date.
