Thorium Reader is the e-book reader used to download EBSCO e-books that limit the number of users who can access an e-book simultaneously. In order to read a downloaded e-book in Thorium, you need a passphrase.
This FAQ shows you how to find your passphrase for Thorium. To learn how to download and return e-books from Thorium, please see this FAQ.
To find your passphrase:
- Find the e-book that you downloaded in an EBSCO database.
- Click on Download.
- Click on the Full eBook tab.
- If you are not logged into your MyEBSCO account, click Sign in and follow prompts to log into your MyEBSCO account.
- Click on Generate new passphrase.
- Click on Copy to copy the passphrase.
- When prompted, paste or type the passphrase into the Thorium Reader app to open your e-book.
- Click Open to save the passphrase and open the e-book.
